Our Success Rates Speak For Themselves

Achieved with implanting one embryo per cycle
for healthy moms and full-term, healthy babies.
Take a look at our most recent stats from 2018 on the table below, soon to be published by SART and the CDC. It features our great outcomes, such as:
72.7% Live Birth Rate per transfer for patients under 35 yrs old using their own eggs
73.5% Live Birth Rate per transfer for patients 38-40 yrs old using their own eggs (11 out of 15)
Visit SART or read the CDC Nat’l summary to compare our success rates to any clinic in the nation. Our outcomes are excellent, even though we only transfer one embryo at a time. We don’t take the risk of implanting multiple embryos to improve our success rates; we believe our patients’ health and safety come first!

Freeze-All IVF Protocols

A new standard in IVF treatment

We have adopted a new standard in IVF: Routine day 5-7 Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies (PGT-A), a Freeze-all vitrification protocol, and Single embryo transfer (SET). Adopting these practices into our routine care have resulted in dramatic increases in the success rates at our practice.

The proof is in our numbers. In the last complete reporting year, our implantation rate (shown on the table at the top of this page) reached a staggering 86.4% in patients under the age of 35! That means 86.4% of the transfers we performed in 2018 resulted in a pregnancy. It should be noted, however, that not all studies have shown this degree of impact.

According to Genesis Genetics and a recent abstract(1,2), there are only a small number of U.S. clinics that are currently doing this routinely. A recent study reported a 97% increase in live birth rates using this protocol, without SET, vs the older practice of day 3 or day 5 fresh transfers. Although SET was not used throughout this study the chance of pregnancy per embryo transferred was more than double with PGT-A and freeze-all compared with cycles without PGT-A(3). It should be noted, however, that not all studies have shown this degree of impact.

We don’t have a waiting list for PGT-A.

RFID Tagging of All Patient Samples

Taking security to the next level

We understand the immense level of trust that patients put in their fertility clinic to safeguard the identity of their most precious samples during reproductive procedures. To that end, we added another layer of security through the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. Not only were we one of the first clinics in the USA to adopt the use of RFID tags in all of our ART (IVF and IUI) procedures, we remain one of the only clinics in the country with such a system.

RFID tags provide an additional level of oversight by constantly monitoring the identity of the samples throughout the process. The use of this system has provided both our patients and staff with peace of mind.

Next-Gen PGT-A

Increasing IVF Success

Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies (PGT-A) is a test that can be performed as part of an IVF cycle. PGT-A works by looking at the genetic material of each embryo and making sure that the embryo is genetically normal and contains the correct number of chromosomes. Abnormal embryos generally do not lead to successful pregnancies and can result in the birth of a child with a genetic condition.

The technique of PGT-A requires IVF and growing embryos to the blastocyst stage (day 5 to 7). Many IVF labs are not equipped to carry out this level of test. The embryo must be “hatched” in the IVF lab, and a few cells biopsied from the outer trophectoderm layer of cells (which later goes on to form the placenta and membranes of a pregnancy). The embryo is then vitrified (an advanced technique of embryo freezing), and stored for later transfer back to the uterus. The biopsied cell samples are sent to a PGT-A lab for a count of chromosomes.

Embryos are stored after sampling, since genetic testing takes about a week. Embryos do well with the freezing-thawing process, with >97% of embryos surviving vitrification and thaw. Implantation rates improve too with a delayed transfer cycle as we’re able to bring the lining of your uterus to optimal conditions for carrying a healthy baby to term.

Identifying embryos with genetic abnormalities before they are transferred can have numerous benefits, including, but not limited to: a higher chance of pregnancy, and a reduced risk of miscarriage. We now utilize advanced next-generation PGT-A on all IVF patients.

Our Success Rates Speak For Themselves

Take a look at Overlake Reproductive Health’s success rates in comparison to the national average. Live Birth Rates are one of the best metrics to determine the best fertility clinic for you and your family. Our Live Birth Rates are among the highest in the Pacific Northwest even though we only implant a single embryo at a time for a safe and healthy pregnancy.

Our 2018 Live Birth rate reported to the CDC is 72.7% for patients under age 35 and 73.3% for age group 38-40.

2018 Live Birth rate reported to the CDC is 72.7% for patients under age 35 and 73.3% for age group 38-40
Now let’s take a look at the table below which compares our 2017 CDC Live Birth published stats to the 2017 National average.

2017 CDC Live Birth published stats to the 2017 National average
A high rate of success with embryos implanting in the uterus leads to a high pregnancy and live birth rate. Overlake Reproductive Health’s world-class implantation Rate (pregnancy with a single euploid embryo transfer) was 86.4% in patients under the age of 35.

Overlake Reproductive Health’s world-class implantation Rate (pregnancy with a single euploid embryo transfer) is 82%

Disclaimer: Patient medical characteristics, such as age, diagnosis, and ovarian reserve, affect the success of ART treatment. Comparison of success rates across clinics may not be meaningful due to differences in patient populations and ART treatment methods. The success rates displayed here do not reflect any one patient's chance of success. Patients should consult with a doctor to understand their chance of success based on their own characteristics.

Compare our Implantation Rates verses the national average. Note that the CDC stopped including implantation rates in 2017 but we think they are an important factor so we’re looking at the most recent published information of 2016.

Year after year our success rates are far above the national average and among the highest in Washington State.

Many factors can help you determine the best fertility clinic for you and your family. While success rates should be at the top of your list, the atmosphere of the office and the empathy you feel from the doctors and staff should also give you a feeling you can trust. At ORH we take pride in treating all of our patients with compassion so patients can rest assured they are on the fastest, optimum course of treatment to obtaining a healthy baby.

We offer a wide range of innovative pricing options to our patients including the best 100% IVF refund program, and the only IUI discount programs in the region. Explore our Peace Of MindTM programs to find out more.

We’re proud of our success rates! But we’re prouder still of our patients and their courage to fight for their dream of having a family. ORH is a solid choice to achieve a safe pregnancy and a happy, healthy baby.

  • Dr. Johnson, Dr. Rehman, Jo and the staff at ORH are wonderful. It took four IVF cycles for us to get pregnant. Through treatment it felt like we were making progress each time and Dr. Johnson made sure we always remained hopeful. From day one he said "we will get you there", and they did. In a time full of physical and emotional challenges we could not have asked for a more skilled, caring team. We love that it is a small practice where you are treated like family instead of a patient number. We finally welcomed our first little guy 8 weeks ago and he is a dream come true.

How does ORH compare with other clinics?

The very best number that you can use to know how a clinic is doing is to look at implantation rates per embryo. This rate is so useful as it illustrates what percentage of the embryos the clinic transferred resulted in pregnancy.

What you are left with is a good reflection of how good a particular clinic is. In our most recent cycle series (March 2017) our implantation rates were 89%.

We are proud to offer a wide range of innovative pricing options to our patients. We offer the best 100% IVF refund program, and the only IUI discount programs in the region.
