We want to make this as clear as possible for people: GET THE VACCINE.
While The COVID-19 vaccines are new, the technology used to create them is not new. The vaccines are safe and effective. Research shows there are no adverse outcomes or safety issues in connection with reproductive health. For men, there are no adverse effects on sperm count.
There is no evidence showing getting one of the COVID-19 vaccines will cause infertility or cause complications in fertility treatments. Women who have received the vaccine, young and older, have zero related issues conceiving.
Now we understand information floating around social media suggests otherwise but please ignore it. We want to reiterate what the CDC is saying. The vaccine cannot ‘shed’ as some garbage internet posts suggest.
At this time, the CDC recommends that pregnant women be prioritized for COVID-19 vaccinations. If you can get vaccinated before you become pregnant, even better.
Current data shows there’s minimal risk of long-term adverse effects on a baby born to a mother who received the vaccine during pregnancy. The vaccine can be taken during any trimester.
There is data that shows that COVID-19 does kill pregnant women at a higher rate than non-pregnant women. Pregnant women who have COVID-19 are more likely to develop respiratory complications requiring intensive care than women who aren’t pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Pregnant women are also more likely to be placed on a ventilator. And you do not want to be placed on a ventilator with COVID. You DO NOT want Covid.
In addition, pregnant women who are Black or Hispanic appear to be disproportionately affected by infection with the COVID-19 virus. Pregnant women who have underlying medical conditions, such as diabetes, also might be at even higher risk of severe illness due to COVID-19.
Research shows pregnant women with COVID-19 are more likely to have a premature birth and cesarean delivery, and their babies are more likely to be admitted to a neonatal unit.
While over 586,000 people have died from Covid just in the United States, very few have been adversely affected by the vaccines to prevent it.
In fact, we’re discovering a new group called ‘Long haulers’ with symptoms that persist long after their battle with COVID is over. Post Covid Syndrome symptoms range from fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, joint pain and chest pain to other issues including cognitive problems, difficulty concentrating, depression, muscle pain, headache, rapid heartbeat and intermittent fever. There are now reports that up to a third of recovered patients develop Neuropsychiatric symptoms ranging from mild anxiety to needing hospitalization for psychosis.
In addition, there is reported organ damage including prolonged heart, lung and kidney issues. These Covid symptoms can have an adverse effect on fertility — and just survival in general. So we really want you to avoid getting the COVID virus. Every unvaccinated human is an opportunity for COVID to mutate into something worse than it already is. So please, don’t be that human.
The best way to prevent all of these adverse effects of COVID-19? Get the vaccine – as soon as possible.
And thank you for taking care of yourself and your fellow humans by limiting its spread.
