The WSMA in turn is one of 55 state and territorial medical associations which are chartered by and are constituents of the American Medical Association.
The King County Medical Society, established in 1888 and incorporated in 1909, has grown to a membership of over 3,800 members. Their mission statement: Our Society, as the voice of King County physicians, is committed to support its members in delivering the best care, to champion the public welfare, and to promote the highest ideals of medical practice.
