I just read an interesting article at the Slate.com, by Sarah Elizabeth Richards, titled, “In Defense of IVF Twins.” Sarah talks about the advantages of transferring multiple embryos over a single embryo transfer (SET) during an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle. She makes some good points and transferring more than one embryo may be the right choice to make for many couples in their fertility treatment.
However, there are pros and cons of each route and what’s right for one couple may not be the best choice for another. We believe every patient is unique there isn’t one “right” answer to this question. There are a lot of personal and biological factors to weigh, and our infertility doctors will help you make an informed decision on transfer day by discussing your options thoroughly so you can do what’s best for you.
